We have helped improve disabled access in many locations including homes and commercial buildings, which is highly gratifying for us. We successfully installed Omega Curved Inclined Lift for Theatre Three, a fully functioning, non-profit theatre company in Port Jefferson, New York.
The Challenge
As per the guidelines provided by the National Association of Theatre Owners, Theatre owners are committed to be ADA compliant, and design and build theaters that are fully accessible. Also, if the if entrance requires going upstairs, the building must have a ramp or a lift. Theatre Three is dedicated to developing an appreciation for the art of live theatre among the residents of Long Island.
This theatre required ADA Access to their seating area and contacted us to help find a good solution. Our mission was to find a stair lift that was sturdy, reliable, and safe in all sense.
The Solution
Our team of technicians installed Omega Curved Inclined Lift that is designed for access on stairs with multiple levels, curves or intermediate landings. An alternative to an elevator or vertical platform lift, the Omega requires minimal construction. The foldaway platform allows full access to the stairs when the lift is not in use. Its ADA-compliant platform includes a fold out seat and audio visual movement alarm to meet public building access requirements.
Omega has excellent safety features such a sensor system on the platform, over-speed governor, non-skid platform with safety flaps on the sides, and emergency stop button among others.
This product with its space-saving design, efficiency and safety features is the right solution for Theatre Three, and the client approved of our choice.
