The Rubin Museum of Art in New York is one of our satisfied clients. This commercial museum building needed to install a new wheelchair lift compatible with their architectural structure. After browsing the Blue Book Network, the client chose DAY for their challenging project.
We successfully installed the Savaria Delta inclined platform lift for this museum building. The duration of the project was one month and nine days from the delivery date. This safe inclined platform lift carries a passenger in a wheelchair up and down a single flight of straight stairs by travelling along a rail system mounted alongside the stairs. Suitable for home or commercial applications, the Delta is well suited to environments where an elevator or vertical lift cannot be easily accommodated. This lift comes with a standard load capacity of 550 lb (250 kg).
Four of our expert technicians were involved in this project. This was a very special case where they had an old style unsafe life where the stairs turned into a vertical platform lift. Our team had to remove and upgrade to Savaria Delta. The lift was installed in the cellar of the auditorium. Parts of the lift had to be carried up and down. The museum is a pristine environment and we had to ensure white-glove treatment.
Thanks to our successful installation of the Savaria Delta unit, the Rubin Museum of Art is fully accessible to wheelchair users.
