Overview

An icon of American business, McDonald’s is a classic, long-running fast-food chain known for its burgers, fries and shakes. An experienced hand in supplying accessibility equipment for commercial as well as residential settings, DAY Elevator & Lift installed a Savaria vertical platform lift at McDonald’s, the popular fast-food outlet on 18 E 42nd St, New York.

The Challenge

McDonald’s 42nd St, New York shop needed accessibility to their 2nd floor. They called us to design a product for the main entrance within very limited space for ADA-compliant accessibility as they were adding additional dining space to the 2nd floor.

The Solution

Our team decided to install a Savaria V-1504 lift to improve accessibility. They worked with engineers and architects from McDonalds as well as the building owner’s representatives to design this prefabricated clear plexi-glass enclosure for the vertical platform lift traveling 14′ to the 2nd floor.

Built to carry a wheelchair and passenger safely up and down one or more levels, the Savaria V-1504 lift is suitable for installations in public and commercial buildings, as well as private homes. It features an extremely versatile design that can be configured and customized to suit virtually any project requirements and aesthetic needs.

Our solution improved accessibility in McDonald’s NY shop, and they are happy with our choice of lift and installation service.
