Overview

Serving the NY, NJ, Long Island, and Manhattan areas, DAY Elevator & Lift is a leading supplier of accessibility solutions for residential and commercial settings. We installed five dumbwaiter lifts for Condé Nast, a prestigious media company renowned for producing the highest quality content for the world’s most influential audiences.

The Challenge

The company occupied floors 20 through 44 of 1 World Trade Center in November 2014. DAY Elevator & Lift was brought into this project very early in the planning stages of The Freedom Tower at Ground Zero. The challenge was that the first tenant, Conde Nast, needed to be able to move files and paperwork between the 34th & 35th floors in the building.

The Solution

It was agreed that a dumbwaiter could satisfy the issue, but we would need to comply with all fire codes and Port Authority Jurisdiction, given the nature of the project. We completed 5 different lifts within The Ground Zero area by obtaining all security clearances and background checks via the SWAC (Secure Workers Access Consortium) program.

The dumbwaiter lifts we installed are specially designed to suit all the needs of the clients for transportation of a variety of materials. In offices, these lifts can help to move huge chunks of files and folders between floors, thus saving employees valuable time and improving productivity.
